Histotechnologist – Intermediate Professional (PSU1303)

Job Summary

The Histotechnologist prepares tissue specimens for routine and special procedures; performs complex histological procedures; records and analyzes data; maintains instruments and computerized equipment; and observes, records and analyzes data.

Representative Duties

  • Process, embed, and label histology samples to prepare for microscopic techniques
  • Perform routine and special staining procedures; prepare solutions for histology solutions
  • Troubleshoot and optimize histology procedures; develop and modify special techniques
  • Operate, utilize, calibrate, and instruct others in imaging technology; evaluate test procedures; troubleshoot issues
  • Maintain record keeping and specimen handling procedures

Level Summary:
– Demonstrates ability to perform intermediate tasks in defined skill areas. Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of internal procedures. Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 8
  • Minimum – $51,000.00
  • MidPoint – $62,500.00
  • Maximum – $74,000.00
