Job Summary and Representative Duties

The Regional Operations Director, Commonwealth Campuses coordinates operations of multiple campuses and acts as a point of contact for chancellors; provides strategic oversight, planning, and advice to chancellors and leadership to ensure the smooth functioning and efficient management of campus services; collaborates closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Serve as regional point of contact to the Office of the Senior Vice President for Finance & Business (F&B) and chancellors for operations that fall outside of central workstreams to align practices and policies across locations
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; develop and implement policies and procedures; conduct regular audits to mitigate risk
  • Provide advice and input on the strategic planning process, including the prioritization of goals and action items, as well as funding and design consultation, as applicable, in consultation with and under the guidance of campus leadership
  • Manage complex projects, events, and programs
  • Foster strong relationships with campus leadership, faculty, staff, and students to understand their needs and provide responsive and efficient customer service; coordinate with Finance and Business service units as needed
  • Collect and analyze feedback from students, staff, and other stakeholders to inform decision-making and advise service providers
  • Work closely with campus human resources to assess and determine workforce plans
  • Collaborate in marketing, communications, and public relations efforts for campuses; participate in the development of and implement crisis communications plans and protocols
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of campus safety protocols and emergency preparedness plans to ensure a safe and conducive environment for students, faculty, and staff
  • Evaluate and coordinate recommendations on space usage and facility planning
  • Serve as a liaison and brand ambassador between the University and local communities including local government, local businesses, elected officials, school districts, and community groups
  • Coordinate facility use for non-university users in accordance with University policies
  • Oversee the contract management process for services that fall outside of central workstreams, including vendor selection, negotiation, and performance evaluation, in accordance with procurement policies; establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring compliance with contract terms and service level agreements
  • Assist with coordination of campus inventories
  • Provide advice and input on continuous improvement processes to enhance campus operations and services; when necessary, serve as a liaison with Finance and Business units
  • Prepare regular reports and analytics related to operations; present findings, trends, and recommendations
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as a liaison for designated campuses on committees and advisory boards

  • Minimum – $123,200.00
  • MidPoint – $157,100.00
