Job Summary and Representative Duties
Veterans Programs Managers collaborate and coordinate with various units throughout the University that provide services and administer programs to the university military-connected student population to assist student veterans to fully engage in the learning process and to acclimate to the Penn State Community to support their academic success; coordinate, plan, implementation, and assess of all student veteran related services, programs, and activities; act as advocate for student veterans on veteran related issues; oversee all aspects of Veterans programs, as well as advising University stakeholders on policies and procedures needed to comply with various federal and state laws governing veterans and veterans benefits administration.
- Provide overall leadership in the development, planning, execution, and coordination of services, programs, and activities to meet the needs of military-connected student population
- Develop, implement, and execute strategic plan and vision for the University's support of military-connected students through services, programs, and activities to meet the needs of the Veterans population
- Assess Veterans programs and services at all campuses to identify and fix gaps in services and to seek opportunities to enhance the student Veterans experience
- Serve as liaison to develop and maintain relationships with key local and national Veterans organization
- Advocate and be a resource on advising University and the community of Veterans program issues
- Seek external funding and development opportunities to create new and sustain existing Veterans services, programs, and activities
- Counsel and assist Veterans eligibly dependents and reservists in the areas of VA benefits, financial, academic, and personal concerns
- May serve as the primary point of contact for School Certifying Officials (SCO) at Campuses; oversee compliance with University and federal policies and procedures

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 12
- Minimum – $76,700.00
- MidPoint – $95,900.00
