Labor and Employee Relations Manager – Senior Manager (PSU0194)
Job Summary
The Labor and Employee Relations Manager oversees the management of employee relations, labor relations, and compliance with labor laws to foster a positive and productive workplace; works closely with senior leadership, HR partners, and union representatives on complex matters; addresses employee concerns and conducts high level investigations; leads, mentors, and supervises staff.
Representative Duties
- Lead and manage employee relations initiatives, including addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts
- Serve as a point of contact for union-related matters, working closely with union representatives to address bargaining, contract interpretation, and other labor-related issues
- Negotiate and administer collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) while ensuring compliance with all terms
- Develop, implement, and enforce university-wide policies related to labor and employee relations, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations
- Advise senior leadership on labor and employment law compliance and potential legal risks
- Lead or facilitate high level investigations into employee concerns, complaints, and disputes; serve as the escalation point for complex/high priority matters
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers and HR teams on employee performance issues, including discipline, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans; ensure consistency and fairness in handling performance-related matters
- Monitor trends in employee and labor relations, analyze data to identify patterns, and develop actionable insights to improve workplace relations; prepare regular reports on employee and labor relations issues for senior leadership
- Support organizational change initiatives by ensuring that communication and employee relations strategies are in place to effectively manage transitions
- Lead a team of employee and labor relations professionals, providing direction, mentorship, and support

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 14
- Minimum – $97,100.00
- MidPoint – $121,400.00
- Maximum – $145,700.00

10+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience
