Library Services Manager – Senior Manager (PSU0239)
Job Summary
The Library Services Manager leads library department(s) or unit(s) including hiring, directing, and developing a team; establishes processes and procedures to ensure organizational excellence, compliance, and efficiency; provides leadership for outstanding customer service; applies expertise over functional area(s) within a library; ensures the standardization of practices across unit(s); and administers unit(s) budget.
Representative Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of one or more library departments, centers, or unit; manage workflows; designates and delegates duties with the department(s) or unit(s); implement processes and procedures to enhance service and user experience across functional areas
- Provide direction and leadership to a team of employees; perform hiring, onboarding, supervision, and performance management of assigned employees; identify and deliver development opportunities for employees
- Ensure appropriate implementation and application of assessment activities; plan and design unit operations; oversee projects; collaborate with stakeholders to establish objectives that align with strategic plans; create documentation and training guides to ensure the standardization of practices and work methods across departments
- Lead, collaborate, and communicate internal and external customers, stakeholders, and vendors; represent and promote the interests of the unit on University committees
- Identify, secure, recommend, and allocate resources including library spaces, equipment, technologies; develop and implement safety and security protocols; manage access controls
- Assess, research, and recommend emerging technology; develop and deliver technology training for library areas
- Direct multiple library functions including acquisitions, circulation, cataloging and metadata creation, digitalization, collection planning, and preservation
- Ensure compliance with existing contracts/licenses, accessibility regulations, and copyright laws
- Prepare and manage budget; oversee financial data collection and reporting activities; make recommendations for long-range financial planning

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 10
- Minimum – $61,800.00
- MidPoint – $75,700.00
- Maximum – $89,600.00

10+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience
