Budget Analyst – Principal Professional (PSU0572)
Job Summary
The Budget Analyst conducts budget and planning analysis and studies; works closely with programming staff to design and implement computer systems; assists in the preparation of financial materials, reports and summaries.
Representative Duties
- Responsible as assigned for major components or nearly all facets of budget activities; participate in the conceptual development of the various budget processes and specifications for projects
- Participate in budget and resource data analysis; gather, compile and manipulate data; may determine analytical methods to be used; identify inconsistencies or significant findings
- Develop and analyze projections of the budget and resource implications of proposed programs
- Prepare budget scenarios used to build the University’s operating budget
- Explain procedures, forms and formats, definitions, and other requirements for the annual preparation and submission of budget documents
- Prepare detailed presentations of comprehensive materials
- Conduct assigned research for and assist in the preparation of data analysis and position papers
- Design, development, and assembly of analytical material; provide analyses of budgetary issues, proposals, and various ad hoc studies
- Prepare comparative and historical analysis of appropriate indicator data in support of the University’s annual budget review
- Analyze and/or develop projections of cost and other resource implications of proposed academic or support programs and changes in programs

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 13
- Minimum – $86,300.00
- MidPoint – $107,900.00
- Maximum – $129,500.00
