Job Summary and Representative Duties
The Sales Specialist develops and implements sales and business development strategies to promote University programs, services, memberships, products, and other revenue-generating initiatives; cultivates and maintains relationships with prospective and existing clients, customers, sponsors, and partners; identifies opportunities to expand market reach and revenue; negotiates agreements; supports entrepreneurial and strategic growth initiatives aligned with University objectives.
- Develop and execute sales and business development strategies to achieve established revenue, client acquisition, membership, and retention goals
- Identify, cultivate, and secure new clients, customers, members, sponsors, and strategic partners through prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship-building activities
- Expand existing client relationships by assessing evolving needs and recommending appropriate University programs, services, products, or solutions
- Represent the University at conferences, trade shows, community events, professional associations, and other outreach activities to promote offerings and develop business opportunities
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to enhance customer satisfaction and long-term engagement
- Lead or support contract discussions, pricing negotiations, and service agreements in accordance with University policies and procedures
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, sales materials, and other communications tailored to prospective and existing clients
- Plan, coordinate, and manage projects and initiatives that support sales, marketing, customer engagement, and organizational objectives
- Monitor sales performance, client activity, and market trends; prepare reports and recommend strategies or corrective actions to achieve established goals
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding University offerings, services, and business opportunities
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure successful implementation, delivery, and ongoing support of client engagements
- May supervise, train, and provide guidance to sales staff, student employees, interns, temporary employees, or other assigned personnel

- Supervisory Responsibilities:
