Job Summary and Representative Duties
The Facilities and Strategic Programs Manager provides leadership and strategic direction for financial planning, deferred maintenance management, business intelligence, and enterprise asset management systems supporting University facilities; is responsible for aligning data, financial strategy, and asset management practices to support informed decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and advance the University's long-term facilities and capital planning objectives; collaborates across organizational units to ensure that maintenance, capital investment, and operational strategies are data-driven, financially sound, and aligned with institutional priorities.
- Provide strategic fiscal oversight across multiple cost centers; develop budget forecasts, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with University and departmental financial policies
- Analyze spending trends and proactively identify cost-saving opportunities, while mitigating budget risks and overruns
- Partner with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to prioritize projects using data-driven criteria such as facility condition, operational risk, and return on investment
- Lead issue resolution across project lifecycles to ensure initiatives are completed on schedule, within budget, and aligned with operational and institutional goals
- Support integration of financial data into enterprise reporting tools to enhance transparency and executive decision-making
- Manage and maintain comprehensive deferred maintenance data for University facilities, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external consultants to develop cost estimates that inform strategic planning and budget development
- Analyze trends and performance metrics to produce actionable insights, reports, and dashboards for facilities leadership, project managers, and capital planners
- Serve as a key contributor to the University's capital planning process through data-driven recommendations and analysis
- Lead cross-functional asset management teams to translate data insights into long-term maintenance and investment strategies
- Develop, manage, and publish business intelligence reports, dashboards, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Respond to stakeholder reporting requests and deliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights
- Advance data visualization and analytics capabilities to support operational performance and strategic planning
- Support and enhance enterprise asset management (EAM) applications and their business use across Facilities Operations
