Network Operations Manager – Manager (PSU1079)
Job Summary
Network Operations Managers are responsible for the daily performance and availability of the organization's network, such as architecture, engineering, storage, security, development, and maintenance; establish overarching protocol for the design, installation, configuration, and optimization of network architecture; perform regular analysis to evaluate network effectiveness and implement corrective action as needed; liaison with other functional leaders to ensure business requirements are being met through network architecture; create policies for implementing and integrating firewalls, web servers, backup systems, and cloud technologies; ensure an effective utilization of LAN/WAN/wireless/VoIP operations; forecast and complete capacity planning to avoid network downtime and provide for stability and reliability; communicate regularly with vendors to assess changes or adaptations to network hardware or software.
Representative Duties
- Manage day-to-day delivery and operations of network infrastructure; provide oversight and leadership to operations throughout the department
- Ensure operational environments (technology and service) are aligned with best practices (e.g., architecture, security, disaster recovery, monitoring)
- Fulfill Service Manager responsibilities, including the development, monitoring, and reporting of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and continual service improvement; oversee service(s) incident, request, change, problem, and knowledge management processes
- Perform capacity planning, incident response, and problem management; implement automation
- Use project management methodologies to work independently and collaboratively with other project team members and across organizational boundaries to complete projects and meet deadlines
- Collaborate on the development of budgets, forecasts, resourcing, cost of services, and planning activities
- Identify ways to improve team efficiency and effectiveness (e.g., self-service, automation, and workflows)
- Lead teams in identification, testing/piloting, and implementation of new tools, techniques and technologies aligned with the needs of the University
- Lead staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management
- Adhere to Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions; participate in grievance and arbitration proceedings (as applicable)

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 13
- Minimum – $86,300.00
- MidPoint – $107,900.00
- Maximum – $129,500.00
