Job Summary

The Student Engagement Manager directs and oversees the development and organization of the University’s extra-curricular programs including special events; lead and direct staff without daily supervision; motivates a team of staff toward the unit or campus goals; manages budgets and responds to complex issues that could impact the overall functioning of the unit or campus; promote student leadership, participation in college decision-making, and enrichment of student life; facilitate involvement opportunities for our students through co-curricular activities to help strengthen their connection to Penn State.

Representative Duties

  • Responsible for creating and leading efforts to engage students in educationally purposeful out of class experiences
  • Consult with other units in Student Affairs and across the University about matters related to student engagement
  • Develop collaborative relationships with academic units, community organizations and other university departments
  • Provide leadership to the University-wide student engagement initiative
  • Ensure programs and services are inclusive and meet the needs of the student population
  • Serve as the budget administrator and negotiate contracts for the program
  • Serve on Student Affairs and University-wide committees and working groups
  • Liaise with representatives from the participating media

Supervisory Responsibilities:

– Plans, forecasts, and/or develops budgets
– May approve budgets for specific area

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 12
  • Minimum – $76,700.00
  • MidPoint – $95,900.00
  • Maximum – $115,100.00

10+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience
