Job Summary

The Real Estate Specialist supports a wide variety of functions including assisting with various real estate and leasing responsibilities within University offices. Examples of Specialist responsibilities include transactions related to lease/property management operations, sales, and acquisitions (gifts, purchases, life estates); research and preparation of reports and plans; contract negotiations; coordinating legal support to the University; and acting as University agent.

Representative Duties

  • Negotiate lease contracts and comparable agreements, and coordinate related processes on behalf of all University locations
  • Coordinate on-site inspections for agreements as well as review all due diligence processes
  • Lead, arrange, and complete necessary legal reviews and all other related due diligence processes; establish working relationships with University legal counsel, Risk Management, et al
  • Provide research, documentation, and financial analysis for University real estate issues; coordinate information internally with colleges, campuses, and/or internal departments
  • Administer, monitor, reconcile, and audit real estate related financial transactions
  • Participate in strategic, capital, and master planning endeavors; provide input and guidance on related real estate plans and potentials
  • Input information into facility information system database
  • Evaluate, direct, retain third-party consultants and professionals
  • May supervise and train staff

Supervisory Responsibilities:
– Indirect supervisor for other full–time employees

  • MidPoint – $75,700.00
