Job Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant supports a variety of activities relating to physical therapy and/or clinical research including proper performance of assessments, examinations and treatments, accurate client education, and proper use of consultations based on managers recommendations for client; serve as a resource for internal and external customers; provide sound interpretation and application of professional standards of practice and overall adherence to policies, procedures and protocols; position also plays a role in orienting and supervising student volunteers and interns.

Representative Duties

  • Provide treatment to a wide variety of patient types in utilizing appropriate modalities and exercise
  • Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes
  • Confer with physical therapy staff/medical team and discuss modification/coordination of treatment plans
  • Give input to senior level staff of potential changes to improve various work unit activities
  • Assist with proper use, care, and maintenance of equipment; ensure safety standards are met
  • Document and maintain all patient care activities and note any changes to patient plan of care
  • May schedule and train student volunteers, interns, as well as assist with their supervision

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 9
  • Minimum – $56,200.00
  • MidPoint – $68,800.00
  • Maximum – $81,500.00
