Job Summary

The Investment Operations Manager is responsible for the evaluation of University investment activities such as short-term debt securities, long-term equity, investment projects and objectives. Analyzes investment opportunities and recommends investments as appropriate. May help to evaluate stock investment and major projects for high-level analysis.

Representative Duties

  • Collects and analyzes financial information for assigned securities or sectors to assist in the development of investment strategies for one or more portfolios
  • Collects and interprets price, yield, stability, or other financial metrics
  • Tracks and reports on current or expected financial performance and makes recommendations meant to improve portfolio returns
  • Performs financial modeling for risk analysis and mitigation for loan structuring, guarantees, equity, and other investments
  • Assist in implementing strategies for long-range financial stability and improved efficiencies within University units
  • Fosters on-going relationships with various service providers including custodians, consultants etc.
  • Collects, maintains data within the Peer Benchmark database; responsible for ensuring accuracy of information
  • Prepares financial reports and presentations for senior leadership as needed
  • Stays abreast of all economic indicators that affect investments, such as interest rates, CPI, GDP, and employment trends
