Occupational Health and Safety Specialist – Senior Supervisor (PSU1982)
Job Summary
The Occupational Safety Specialist oversees and coordinates Occupational Health and Safety programs.
Representative Duties
- Develop and maintain a strategic safety plan focusing on the protection of employees, contractors, guests, and the University Community
- Ensure regulatory compliance for safety programs through auditing and surveying work processes
- Develop, implement, and manage injury and illness prevention programs by performing root cause and failure analysis for incidents
- Analyze injury data to determine trends and set focus on injury prevention strategies
- Participate in creating and revising University policies and safety programs
- Perform accident investigations and make recommendations for corrective actions and follow up actions
- Train management and technical service supervisors on safety initiatives/programs; keep employees abreast of the overall mission, vision, and goals for safety
- Advise on safety projects required for improvements
- Champion the implementation of Prevention Through Design process
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

- Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 10
- Minimum – $61,800.00
- MidPoint – $75,700.00
- Maximum – $89,600.00
