Strategic Communications Specialist - Licensing and Visual Identity – Advanced Professional (PSU2321)
Job Summary and Representative Duties
The Strategic Communications Specialist - Licensing and Visual Identity works within the University's Office of Strategic Communications; plays a pivotal role in supporting and advancing the University's brand integrity through oversight of its licensed indicia and visual identity standards; serves as the central authority on trademark use, brand licensing, and merchandise opportunities; monitors and seeks remedy for unauthorized indicia use; ensures the responsible use and strategic growth of the University's brand assets.
- Safeguard the University's intellectual property, including names, logos, trademarks, and other brand indicia, ensuring consistent and appropriate use across all mediums
- Proactively monitor the use of the University's indicia internally and externally, identifying unauthorized usage and taking corrective actions in collaboration with General Counsel and external partners when necessary
- Participate in the ongoing trademark portfolio review to assess, protect, and enhance the value of the University's brand assets
- Educate internal stakeholders on brand guidelines and the importance of protecting the University's identity
- Generate licensed merchandise opportunities; maintain/seek licensing partners; collaborate in the management of agreements and contracts; participate in vendor selection; prepare/present proposals and recommendations
- Guide and support colleges, campuses, business units, student groups, and affiliated organizations in acquiring appropriate branded merchandise, ensuring compliance with licensing policies
- Evaluate requests for the licensing of film and photography; issue film agreements that address ownership, parameters for filming/photography, and insurance requirements for internal and external parties
- Recommend updates to policies and procedures to improve the University's licensing operations and compliance efforts
- Conduct benchmarking and stay informed on licensing, branding, and intellectual property trends, as well as relevant regulatory and compliance requirements

- Minimum – $56,200.00
- MidPoint – $68,800.00
- Maximum – $81,500.00
