Job Summary

The Endpoint Infrastructure Systems Administrator supports the central service within Penn State IT tasked with oversight over several University-wide teaching and learning environment services, including Systems Management (SysMan), Cooperative Lab Management (CLM), Remote Application Solutions, and University License Manager. This position designs, implements, and supports the resources, infrastructure, and systems both onsite and cloud that enable IT staff to exercise dynamic and effectual endpoint management across the University; ensures the platform(s) provided by these systems are fit for the use of robust computing environments which empower and enable students, faculty, and staff to pursue the University’s instructional mission.

Representative Duties

  • Provide complex technical guidance to IT staff to both current and prospective participants of SysMan, CLM, etc.
  • Perform incident management duties, to include setting appropriate priority to open problems, responding to incidents promptly, and following defined communications and incident handling processes and protocols
  • Investigate and troubleshoot inconsistencies in hardware and software on systems
  • Develop and maintain software packages, scripts, utilities, and other content for SysMan and CLM to be used by participants across the University
  • Ensure that security patches and updates are tested prior to deployment
  • Determine applications to be packaged and review submissions from service participants; test utilities, installers, and deployments on targeted platforms
  • Monitor and remediate security issues as reported by the Office of Information Security (OIS)
  • Maintain and run the WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) for CLM endpoints; serve as primary contact for question and problems
  • Create, review, and update internal, participant, and public documentation for SysMan, CLM, Printing, and other services provided

  • Comp Grade – 12
  • Minimum – $76,700.00
  • MidPoint – $95,900.00
  • Maximum – $115,100.00
