Utilities Construction Supervisor – Supervisor (PSU2455)
Job Summary
The Utilities Construction Supervisor oversees the distribution and delivery of underground utilities systems; ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the distribution network; manages a team of equipment operators and mechanics; monitors system performance, responds to emergencies, enforces regulatory compliance, and maintains high-quality service standards.
Representative Duties
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of the utilities distribution system, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted service
- Conduct regular inspections of the distribution infrastructure to identify areas requiring repairs or upgrades
- Coordinate scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs with appropriate personnel
- Supervise, lead, and mentor a team; assign tasks, set performance goals, and monitor work progress
- Conduct regular team meetings to ensure communication and updates on ongoing projects or issues
- Respond to outages, leaks, or other system failures; coordinate rapid response to minimize service disruptions
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to utility distribution and safety standards
- Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies within the team and operational practices
- Implement and maintain safety training programs for all team members, ensuring all staff are familiar with emergency protocols, equipment handling, and safe work practices
- Track and analyze system performance metrics and implement improvements
- Prepare regular reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and staffing requirements for senior management
- Assist in the development of operational budgets and resource allocation
- Address and resolve customer complaints or service inquiries related to utility distribution issues; oversee the prompt restoration of services during outages or disruptions
- Lead or support infrastructure projects, including installations, upgrades, and expansions of the distribution network
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and construction teams on new development projects
- Oversee the management of tools, equipment, and materials used for utility distribution and maintenance
- Ensure that inventory levels are sufficient for daily operations and emergency needs
- Adhere to Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions; participate in grievance procedures

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 11
- Minimum – $68,200.00
- MidPoint – $85,200.00
- Maximum – $102,300.00
