Clinical Laboratory Manager – Manager (PSU2477)
Job Summary and Representative Duties
The Clinical Laboratory Manager oversees the daily operations of a medical laboratory that offers clinical testing services; evaluates, optimizes, and directs standard operating procedures, workflows, information systems, and data management processes; ensures compliance with regulatory policies and standards in order to ensure accreditation status and quality control; oversees laboratory employees.
- Provide direction and leadership for a medical laboratory; direct clinical testing activities in the fields of phlebotomy, hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, microbiology, immunology/serology and microscopy
- Oversee the efficient operation of the laboratory; establish and evaluate standard operating procedures and workflows; develop and implement quality improvement initiatives; monitor and purchase laboratory equipment and supplies
- Lead laboratory staff; manage and optimize schedules; delegate tasks; establish competency programs; develop and deliver training; evaluate performance; monitor and track certifications for laboratory employees
- Develop and administer the laboratory budget including establishing testing prices and implementing cost mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with consulting clinicians to review diagnostic testing protocols and methods; monitor test performance; identify, evaluate, and implement new tests to be added to the laboratory menu; review test results to ensure quality and accuracy
- Ensure laboratory compliance with government and industry regulations; ensure accreditation requirements are met
- Maintain and update the laboratory information system within the Electronic Health Record; validate and ensure the accuracy of data flows between systems and databases
- Develop reporting processes for infectious disease reporting requirements

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 13
- Minimum – $86,300.00
- MidPoint – $107,900.00
- Maximum – $129,500.00
