Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist – Advanced Professional (PSU2505)
Job Summary and Representative Duties
Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialists are responsible for supporting high-fidelity simulation and technology-based education; supports day-to-day operations of the simulation laboratory, including the operation and troubleshooting of simulation equipment and technology; assists faculty and staff in preparing and delivering realistic clinical simulation scenarios; plays a critical role in ensuring a high-quality, immersive learning environment for students and participants in healthcare and other professional training programs.
Provide instructional support in the use of simulation equipment and technologies for students, staff, faculty, and other educational programs
Collaborate with faculty to develop and implement simulation-based education and assessment activities
Prepare and configure simulation equipment, mannequins, task trainers, and other technology equipment prior to sessions
Operate simulation manikins and software during scenarios, including programming and real-time scenario manipulation
Prepare and apply moulage – simulated injuries, wounds, and bruising to simulators
Perform routine checks, troubleshooting, and upkeep of simulation equipment
Provide software (operating systems, applications, simulator software) management, maintenance, and implementation
Coordinate with vendors for the installation, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to simulation and technology equipment.
Perform safety checks on all equipment, simulators, and task trainers on a regular schedule
Document simulation sessions, including equipment usage and technical issues
Manage and archive video and audio files of simulation sessions for debriefing and educational use
Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and confidentiality protocols
Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment used in simulations (including medical supplies); track usage; order and restock as needed; may monitor and track budget
Participate in training, drills, and quality improvement initiatives related to simulation education; ensure safe simulation practices are being followed
Train faculty, staff, and learners on the use of simulation equipment and technology systems
Facilitate tours and orientations to the simulation center as needed to promote programs
Schedule events for simulation lab spaces and the active learning classroom
Collaborate with faculty, instructional designers and IT personnel to integrate simulation and emerging technologies (e.g., VR/AR, 3D printing, AI tools) as well as support for other devices used in both the classroom and the simulation center
Remain current in simulation education including staying abreast of emerging simulation technologies

- MidPoint – $62,500.00
