Job Summary and Representative Duties

The Prospect Management and Analytics Manager advances the University's fundraising efforts by directing and managing all aspects of donor and prospect research, pipeline development, and prospect tracking; leads a team responsible for identifying, analyzing, and tracking gift prospects; collaborates with development staff across units; ensures the use of data-driven strategies to guide fundraising initiatives; serves as a key partner in driving fundraising results by aligning research and prospect management practices with institutional goals.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for prospect research and management in support of fundraising
  • Lead efforts to build and refine a dynamic prospect pipeline, including discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship tracking
  • Translate fundraising goals into actionable research and portfolio strategies; set and enforce standards and protocols for prospect portfolio management
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the prospect management system, ensuring accurate and timely data related to donor assignments, contact reports, and strategy stages
  • Monitor and report on prospect pipeline activity, gift officer performance, and strategic progress toward fundraising goals
  • Serve as a liaison to development leadership and gift officers to support fundraising priorities through research and prospect insights
  • Facilitate regular prospect strategy meetings and partner with development staff to evaluate portfolio health and opportunities
  • Work closely with Advancement Services, Annual Giving, and Alumni Relations teams for integrated engagement and outreach strategies
  • Lead the coordination of joint projects between Prospect Management and Analytics, Information Systems, and Business Intelligence/Reporting colleagues to ensure business needs are evaluated and solutions are successfully adopted
  • Produce and present complex reports, dashboards, and briefings to inform executive-level decision-making
  • Lead special projects related to campaign planning, prospecting for new initiatives, and system improvements
  • Evaluate and implement tools, technologies, and methodologies that enhance the research and prospect management function
  • Facilitate benchmarking and best practice adoption with feedback from peer institutions, colleagues, and technology vendors on development operations, process efficiency, and guiding principles of fundraising productivity
  • Foster a collaborative and data-driven team culture that supports innovation and efficiency
  • Supervise and develop a team of Prospect Management and Analytics Specialists and Associates; provide regular coaching, training, and performance evaluation to ensure team effectiveness and growth

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 15
  • Minimum – $109,300.00
  • MidPoint – $136,600.00
