Job Summary and Representative Duties

The Financial Reporting Accountant prepares, reviews, and submits financial statements and reports in response to external reporting needs; collaborates with financial leadership to interpret, define, and comply with cyclical reporting requirements; serves as the liaison between audit firms and the University.

  • Prepare audited and unaudited financial statements on behalf of the University
  • Serve as the point of contact with external auditors; facilitate efficient reporting and information exchanges between audit firms and University departments
  • Analyze and interpret relevant Financial Accounting Standards Board and Uniform Guidance requirements to ensure University compliance
  • Provide direction and guidance to University departments related to cyclical and periodic reporting requirements; collaborate with Strategic Finance Partners and unit leadership to implement and administer monthly reporting activities and processes; review financial documents for accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial disclosures
  • Administer activities related to appropriation reports, subsidiary corporation reporting, regulatory audits, and other related reporting
  • Analyze transactions and entries within the enterprise financial management systems in order to prepare consolidated statements and reporting

  • Minimum – $86,300.00
  • MidPoint – $107,900.00
  • Maximum – $129,500.00
