Healthcare Records Assistant – Senior Support (PSU2125)
Job Summary
The Healthcare Records Assistant maintains various healthcare data records and systems; ensures the quality of data and information through collection, verification, and authorization procedures; responds to requests for medical information while maintaining adherence to regulations and laws.
Representative Duties
- Maintain, verify, analyze, and update healthcare information and data; review medical records for accuracy; process and integrate medical information into the electronic health record
- Evaluate, authorize, prepare, and respond to requests for patient protected health information; ensure compliance with federal and state health regulations, laws, and standards; communicate with healthcare providers and other requesters regarding the status of their request
- Provide expertise in regulations, guidelines, and standards as they relate to the collection and release of healthcare data; maintain an awareness and understanding of law and policy changes and their impact to medical record procedures
- Administer and interpret quality control reports to ensure data integrity; perform audits related to medical record documentation; ensure the timely, thorough, and efficient processing of record requests
- Maintain health record databases to track disclosures and authorizations in accordance with federal and state regulations
- Respond to customer/student inquiries related to health data; counsel patients on their HIPPA rights
- May assist the department with answering incoming telephone lines and handling customer inquiries and questions

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 5
- Minimum – $38,300.00
- MidPoint – $46,900.00
- Maximum – $55,500.00
