Global Safety Analyst – Advanced Professional (PSU0108)
Job Summary and Representative Duties
The Global Safety Analyst supports the health, safety, and security of University personnel participating in international travel; researches global developments, evaluates international risk, implements travel-related compliance procedures, and delivers training to ensure that University travelers are well-prepared and protected abroad; is responsible for managing travel registration systems, monitoring adherence to University travel requirements, coordinating with internal and external partners, including Export Control and the University's international medical insurance provider; responds to emergencies.
- Prepare University personnel for international travel by providing timely and relevant health, safety, and security information
- Conduct individualized, country-specific predeparture safety and security briefings for faculty, staff, and students
- Deliver education on travel planning, cultural considerations, customs requirements, documentation needs, and security best practices
- Provide guidance to travelers on University international medical insurance coverage and assist with claims procedures and emergency medical coordination
- Facilitate clear communication between international insurance providers and University travelers, especially during emergencies
- Offer support to travelers during critical incidents, acting as a first-line responder
- Conduct comprehensive research and develop risk assessments for diverse international destinations commonly visited by University personnel
- Analyze and report on significant global events, trends, or incidents that may impact University travelers; recommend risk mitigation strategies
- Maintain proactive awareness of international travel rules, regulations, policies, and global advisories; communicate changes to relevant University stakeholders
- Oversee the travel registration system; ensure travelers are aware of registration requirements and monitor compliance with University international travel policies
- Review international travel records for adherence to Export Control regulations in coordination with the Office of Ethics and Compliance
- Track international travelers, monitor compliance gaps, and report issues
- Conduct quality assurance audits related to travel safety; maintain compliance data; prepare reports; recommend corrective actions
- Develop and deliver Global Safety orientations, workshops, and seminars for faculty, staff, and students
- Lead or support emergency preparedness workshops covering crisis planning, evacuation and repatriation procedures, and Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) enrollment
- Support the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of global safety policies, procedures, best practices, and training
- Coordinate with external partners including the University's international emergency assistance and medical insurance providers, embassies/consulates, and government agencies
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, overseeing professional development, and conducting performance management.

- Minimum – $46,400.00
- MidPoint – $56,800.00
