Job Summary and Representative Duties

The HRIS Analyst is responsible for the analysis, configuration, implementation, and ongoing support of the University's human resources information systems (HRIS); partners with Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, and Information Technology teams to optimize system functionality, enhance business processes, and ensure data integrity and compliance; evaluates system performance, gathers and translates business requirements into technical solutions, and supports reporting and analytics to inform strategic decision-making; ensures HR data is accurately processed and maintained in accordance with institutional policies and applicable regulations.

  • Evaluate, analyze, and maintain HRIS modules; configure and modify system functionality to meet evolving business needs and stakeholder requirements
  • Support system upgrades, releases, and new feature adoption, including regression testing and impact analysis
  • Manage security roles, business process frameworks, and system integrations
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and functional user groups
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Payroll, and IT teams to define requirements, scope, objectives, and feasibility of system enhancements
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and technical requirements
  • Collect and analyze user feedback to prioritize enhancements and continuous improvement efforts
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT); perform validation activities to ensure data accuracy, system integrity, and compliance with requirements
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and external vendors
  • Provide operational support for major system events, including annual compensation and merit cycles, performance review processes, open enrollment and benefits processing and mass data transactions (e.g., EIB loads)
  • Monitor system performance and resolve production issues; implement temporary workarounds when system issues impact operations
  • Design, develop, and maintain standard and ad hoc reports and dashboards; ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports and systems
  • Maintain relationships with system vendors and third-party providers; coordinate with vendors on system issues, enhancements, and product updates
  • Support integration efforts between HRIS and other enterprise systems
  • Maintain system documentation, including configuration changes, processes, and incident logs
  • Develop and deliver user training, job aids, and system demonstrations
  • Communicate system updates, enhancements, and best practices to stakeholders
  • Provide advanced functional support and customer service to end-users
  • Respond to inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and guide users on system functionality
  • Promote user adoption and effective system utilization
  • May supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
