Job Summary

The Design and Construction Project Manager provides coordination and management services on a variety of major and minor construction and renovation projects through the entire life cycle of a project from conceptual development through design, construction and closeout; reports and makes presentations for stakeholders and other senior leaders.

Representative Duties

  • Direct the portfolio of assigned projects regarding scope of work, budget, and timeline
  • Supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management
  • Manage the selection of design teams, construction contractors, and related consultants and suppliers
  • Oversee the progression of project teams and project status; report to stakeholders and senior University management
  • Set program criteria for projects; establish standards, policies, and procedures
  • Manage project budgets including estimate development, value engineering efforts, cost tracking, and review and analysis of change orders
  • Review and maintain safety risk assessment, environmental health and infection control policies (HMC), as applicable, are adhered to by design professionals and construction contractors
  • Ensure all code compliance and regulations are followed by assigned projects and associate teams
  • Monitor market and industry trends to ensure new methods of executing work are investigated and implemented within the department
  • Oversee and ensure appropriate implementation, operation, evaluation, and adjustment to processes within the organization to ensure that quality standards are achieved; champion continuous quality improvement initiatives utilizing appropriate philosophies and theories to solve problems and improve processes
  • Direct work of professional consultants and contractors

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 13
  • Minimum – $86,300.00
  • MidPoint – $107,900.00
  • Maximum – $129,500.00
