Athletic Director - Commonwealth Campus – Principal Manager (PSU1801)
Job Summary
The Athletic Director - Commonwealth Campus provides leadership, direction, and oversight for the athletic program operations at a Commonwealth Campus, including intercollegiate sports, camps, and athletic events; manages program budgets, personnel, compliance, and operating procedures; establishes long-range plans to promote and grow the athletic program; develops policies and procedures; directs student athlete recruiting strategies.
Representative Duties
- Oversee operations for athletic programs including intercollegiate sports, recreational athletic programs, camps, and events
- Provide leadership for team of athletic staff, including hiring, scheduling, delivering training and development opportunities, directing workflow, and evaluating performance
- Establish goals and strategic plans; integrate vision into program operations
- Develop policies and procedures related to travel, game day operations, student athlete eligibility, risk management, contract management, fundraising, budget, and staffing
- Oversee the planning, promotion, logistics, and evaluation of athletic events; oversee home events, athletic competitions, conferences, championship events, post-season events, and special team events; manage the bidding process, contracts, logistics, compliance, and scheduling; direct game day management activities
- Direct student athlete recruiting and retention activities
- Monitor conference and association rules; interpret and apply rules to campus athletic program operations and procedures; submit reports and documentation; collaborate with internal and external athletic associations to ensure safety, eligibility, and recruiting guidelines are followed
- Plan, manage, and evaluate all aspects of athletic camps including budgets, logistics, staffing, procedures, and compliance
- Administer the budget of assigned programs; plan and forecast financial plans; prepare and submit reports; allocate resources; develop strategies to increase revenue
- Collaborate with central University areas including those related to recreation, facilities, and safety to facilitate events; represent the unit and develop partnerships with local community groups
- Represent the athletics department on various Campus and University committees

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 13
- Minimum – $86,300.00
- MidPoint – $107,900.00
- Maximum – $129,500.00

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Experience
10+ years of relevant experience, includes 5+ years of supervisory experience
Equivalency
An equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
