Performing Arts Center Manager – Manager (PSU2156)
Job Summary and Representative Duties
The Performing Arts Center Manager oversees the day-to-day operations, programming, and strategic planning of the University's Performing Arts Center; is responsible for managing the facility that serves academic departments, student organizations, external clients, and community members; ensures a high-quality experience for all performers and audiences while aligning with the university's educational mission.
- Direct performing arts center functions including program management, event management, and business management; oversee the maintenance, scheduling, and usage of all performance and rehearsal spaces
- Ensure compliance with safety, accessibility, and technical standards
- Work closely with academic departments, student groups, and external partners to plan and execute performances, lectures, and events
- Coordinate with Office of Physical Plant, facilities, security, and custodial staff for event support and building upkeep
- Supervise the technical production, including lighting, sound, staging, and video, as needed
- Manage ticketing, front-of-house, and audience services in collaboration with box office staff
- Determine ticket pricing and promotion strategies; develop program revenue plans; create ticket reporting processes; execute ticket set-up in available box offices or online ticket portals
- Assist with preparation of sponsorship proposals; establish relationships and promote increased sponsorship sales
- Review, amend, and approve all contracts; ensure requirements are met and negotiate as required
- Develop and manage operating budgets, capital project proposals, and revenue generation strategies (i.e., rentals and ticket sales); may prepare grants
- Ensure proper financial reporting, contracting, and vendor payments
- Develop training materials and ensure adherence to safety and operational protocols
- Collaborate with university leadership to develop long-term goals for the Performing Arts Center
- Represent the Performing Arts Center in university and community planning
- Foster relationships with local organizations, alumni, and donors
- Provide direct supervision for Performing Arts Center staff including all hiring, training, evaluation, and professional development activities

- Minimum – $68,200.00
- MidPoint – $85,200.00
