Instructional Production Manager – Manager (PSU2325)
Job Summary
The Instructional Production Manager leads the team(s) responsible for the administrative, technical, and production support to instructional designers, faculty, and instructional technology specialists. Instructional production teams manage, maintain, and update course information including schedules, assignments, assessments, and learning resources within the University’s learning management system (LMS). The Manager ensures all online courses are prepared for faculty and students each semester, including all embedded course technologies and LMS configurations; is responsible for performance management and professional development of the team, as well as developing quality processes and monitoring execution of all course setups to ensure they meet quality standards.
Representative Duties
- Oversee hiring and training for instructional production staff; interview, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned support staff
- Manage assignment of projects; development of work plans; oversight of project phases to ensure effective and efficient workflow
- Develop, interpret, and provide guidance on team policies and procedures; evaluate efficacy of processes and practice continuous quality improvement
- Work with leadership to ensure instructional production processes are well integrated with other teams, including quality assurance, accessibility, instructional design, instructional technology specialists, and editors
- Train staff on changes and enhancements to the learning management system
- Identify training and documentation needs to ensure staff are operating efficiently, while ensuring high quality
- Monitor monthly program budgets to determine cost overruns and additional resource needs/reallocation
- Provide input in the selection and enhancement of learning applications and tools
- Participate in and make recommendations during development of work unit’s strategic plan
- Stay current on educational technology trends impacting online learning
- Foster collaboration and communication with teams and educational partners across the University
- Serve as a liaison for the unit to University organizations; serve on committees to represent the theory and practice of instructional design, learning theory, and educational technology innovations

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 8
- Minimum – $51,000.00
- MidPoint – $62,500.00
- Maximum – $74,000.00
