Job Summary and Representative Duties
The Business Intelligence Manager leads a team(s) responsible for data management, modeling, architecture, and/or analysis activities; manages the information lifecycle needs of the University; leads the enhancement of business intelligence capabilities; prioritizes data project or initiative requests; manages the design and implementation of big data solutions; promotes the continual research and application of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques; contributes to the development of an institutional analytics strategy.
- Lead team(s) responsible for business intelligence functional areas including data management, data modeling, data architecture, or analysis and reporting; develop policies and procedures that guide data practices throughout the organization
- Oversee the development and execution of data analysis plans, architectures, and policies and procedures in order to manage the information lifecycle needs of the organization
- Lead, design, and implement institutional research studies that require the use of advanced analytic and modeling techniques; determine the appropriate tools, techniques, and methodologies to extract data that produce meaningful results
- Evaluate and enhance the University's business intelligence capabilities; expand capabilities through the use of predictive modeling and machine learning techniques
- Oversee the design of business intelligence solutions, systems, and applications; optimize the performance of enterprise business intelligence tools and backend architecture
- Lead and provide technical guidance for the design and implementation of data storage and governance systems
- Collaborate with cross functional teams in order to leverage resources and expand project scopes
- Evaluate data requests; prioritize projects and initiatives; establish project timetables, allocate resources, and ensure deliverables are met
- May direct the development, implementation, and maintenance of an institutional analytics strategy; evaluate and promote innovative analytic methodologies, tools, and theories
- Develop training plans and serve as subject matter expert for University analytics teams

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 16
- Minimum – $123,200.00
- MidPoint – $157,100.00
- Maximum – $191,000.00
