Job Summary and Representative Duties

The Time and Attendance Associate supports employees in the accurate and efficient entry, processing, and submission of timecards; resolves issues related to time errors and adjustments; validates the accuracy of time, absence, holiday, overtime, and wage rate information; provides guidance to employees and managers on time entry policies and procedures; collaborates with cross functional teams to implement process improvements.

  • Review and approve time entries; monitor payroll deadlines to ensure timely submissions; advise on and ensure accurate entries for special pay situations including pay adjustments, grievance pay, retroactive pay, one-time payments, and cash advances
  • Monitor and update time balances; track and audit time submission approvals
  • Provide proactive instruction to employes and managers related to time entry procedures and process questions; partner with employees and managers to troubleshoot timecard issues; adjust entries and facilitate the resubmission process; develop training materials for the unit on time procedures and best practices
  • Verify, apply knowledge of, review, and enter correct codes related to leave of absence and overtime scenarios
  • Advise on time entry policies and processes; ensure compliance with University Payroll policies and collective bargaining agreement requirements
  • Investigate and resolve payroll integration issues between work unit and enterprise systems
  • Collaborate with unit management teams, human resources, and business technology teams to identify process improvements related to efficient and accurate time submissions for payroll processing
  • Perform audits on a regular cadence related to time and absence submissions for payroll processing; identify and resolve discrepancies; submit audit reports upon request
  • Supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

Supervisory Responsibilities:
– Typically oversees at least 2 full–time direct reports or equivalent team of part–time and/or student workers (for Support track, performs work at Senior Support level or higher; for Professional track, performs work at the Advanced Professional level or higher)
Fiscal Responsibilities:
– May validate and pay invoices
– May monitor/track budgets for specific area and/or grant(s)

– Encounters generally routine problems with progressively more complex and/or varied problems

  • Minimum – $46,400.00
  • MidPoint – $56,800.00
  • Maximum – $67,300.00
