Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT)

The Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) Specialist collaborates with faculty, staff, and academic partners to explore, evaluate, implement, and support innovative instructional technologies that enhance teaching, learning, research, and scholarly engagement; provides expertise in digital pedagogy, instructional technologies, and emerging learning environments; consults on the effective integration of technology into academic experiences; develops technology-enabled learning resources; evaluates the effectiveness of instructional tools and practices; promotes innovation through research-informed and learner-centered approaches.

• Consult with faculty, staff, and students on the effective integration of instructional technologies, digital media, and emerging technologies to enhance teaching, learning, research, and student success
• Collaborate with instructors to design, develop, and implement technology-enhanced learning experiences aligned with instructional goals and evidence-based pedagogical practices
• Develop innovative digital learning resources, instructional materials, multimedia content, and technology-enabled solutions that support teaching, research, and scholarly activities
• Design, administer, and support technology-rich learning environments, including virtual studios, maker spaces, immersive learning environments, extended reality (XR), and other emerging instructional spaces
• Administer prototyping and creative technologies, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and related technologies
• Maintain and support instructional technologies, multimedia production systems, classroom technologies, digital media equipment, and software used in teaching and learning activities
• Evaluate instructional technologies, digital tools, and learning initiatives using research, user feedback, assessment data, and learning analytics to improve effectiveness and user experience
• Explore, pilot, and recommend emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled instructional tools, immersive technologies, and digital collaboration platforms to support evolving educational needs
• Partner with Information Technology, Libraries, teaching and learning centers, and academic units to implement digital learning initiatives and technology strategies
• Evaluate technology solutions, participate in vendor demonstrations and product reviews, and assist with the procurement and implementation of instructional technology products and services
• Design, deliver, and assess workshops, training programs, consultations, and instructional resources that build faculty, staff, and student proficiency with instructional technologies
• Promote accessibility, universal design, and inclusive teaching practices by recommending technologies and instructional approaches that support diverse learners and comply with applicable accessibility standards
• Remain current on emerging technologies, instructional design methodologies, digital pedagogy, accessibility standards, and higher education trends through professional development and applied practice
• Develop documentation, standards, best practices, and support resources for instructional technologies and digital learning environments
• May supervise staff, part-time employees, interns, and/or graduate assistants, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management
