Job Summary and Representative Duties

The Recruiter is responsible for identifying, sourcing, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet the needs of the University; partners with hiring managers to efficiently fill roles with high quality candidates; provides consultation on recruitment processes, including candidate sourcing (active and passive), screening, and selection; proactively and effectively engages with the candidate community; ensures a seamless and positive experience for both candidates and hiring managers.

  • Serve as a business partner to assigned units; conduct recruitment strategy meetings to develop an understanding of the needs of the hiring unit and position requirements; determine recruiting process timelines to achieve the manager’s hiring expectations
  • Provide recommendations and assistance to hiring managers in developing accurate and compelling job posting descriptions to attract a diverse pool of candidates with the required skills, experience, and qualifications
  • Review applicant pools, analyze resumes, and conduct screening interviews; provide recommendations and assistance in creating scorecards and assessments as needed; provide the hiring manager with candidate insights and consultation
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in all phases of the recruitment process including candidate sourcing, screening, and interviewing; provide consultation to hiring managers in final selection and candidate offer process; identify areas for process improvement and efficiency to increase candidate quality; provide regular updates and feedback to hiring managers and candidates throughout the recruitment process
  • Provide recommendations on appropriate sourcing and marketing strategies for postings to produce diverse candidate pools for current and future openings, including maintaining pipelines for commonly recruited positions; provide targeted job board, social media, and other online recommendations to attract a diverse and qualified candidate pool
  • Connect candidates with opportunities at the University for which their skills, education, and experience meet the required qualifications; proactively connect with candidates through professional organizations, social media, and career fairs; maintain communication with previous applicants and nurture existing relationships with potential candidates; positively represent the organization as a beneficial and desirable employer of choice
  • Serve as a consultant and subject matter expert for the unit on laws, regulations, and policies related to recruitment practices
  • May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management
