Job Summary and Representative Duties

Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) Specialists guide the exploration, development, evaluation, and/or implementation of new or experimental technology initiatives that support teaching, learning, and research; supports faculty in the effective integration of technology to enhance pedagogy, promote student engagement, and improve learning outcomes.

  • Provide consultative services to faculty, staff, and students on the effective use of emerging media technologies for teaching and learning

  • Develop innovative resources and instructional material in support of faculty and student scholarly pursuits

  • Design and maintain virtual learning environments including virtual studios, immersive experiences, and extended reality experiences; assess effectiveness of Media Commons, Maker Commons, and immersive experience lab initiatives

  • Oversee prototyping services administration, including 3D printing, 3D modeling, robotics, electronics, virtual reality, and augmented reality

  • Maintain and support learner technologies for use in instructional activities including multimedia recording and editing software and digital media equipment

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional tools and strategies through research-based assessments and feedback

  • Explore and test new technologies to enhance teaching and learning

  • Partner with IT, library services, and academic departments to advance digital teaching initiatives

  • Evaluate proposals and work with vendors for the acquisition of products and services

  • Plan and implement workshops in area of technology expertise

  • Stay current with new technologies, trends, and pedagogical practices

  • May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

  • Minimum – $51,000.00
  • MidPoint – $62,500.00
  • Maximum – $74,000.00
