Library Services Associate – Senior Support (PSU0243)
Job Summary
The Library Services Associate provides circulation, reference, course reserve and interlibrary loan services; supports processing and maintenance activities and ensures adherence to library guidelines and policies.
Representative Duties
- Facilitate library processes and activities; provide support to students, faculty, and community users including circulation and reference services, room scheduling, fee handling, interlibrary loan processing, and collection maintenance
- Analyze, interpret, and update user account records; respond to requests and administer policies for library users; resolve customer concerns
- Search and select materials using cataloging resources; ensure accuracy of records in catalog; create database records
- Provide library support; facilitate the ordering, receipt, and inspection of materials; ensure adherence to handling and check-in procedures; process invoices; verify and update databases with item information
- Serve as Interlibrary Loan point of contact; process incoming and outgoing items; search catalogs and databases to identify matches and lenders; monitor requests and status of orders; provide customer support for Interlibrary Loan software
- Coordinate course reserves including collection and record maintenance, requests, purchases; consult with faculty on course reserve procedures and copyright guidelines
- Maintain collections including filing, reshelving, labeling, annexing; research and investigate missing library materials; assist with monitoring collection budgets
- Assist customers with the use library technology; submit technology tickets; identify technology needs
- Retrieve and distribute library materials; investigate missing material (e.g., periodicals, issues, books, etc.)
- May recommend opportunities to improve services; create library guides and web resources
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management
- May set schedules and work assignments for part time staff; determine workload allocations within work unit

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 5
- Minimum – $38,300.00
- MidPoint – $46,900.00
- Maximum – $55,500.00
