Job Summary

The IT Asset Management Specialist serves as the primary contact for the technology procurement and licensing requirements of an assigned college, campus, or unit; liaisons with Procurement Office on Request for Proposal or Request for Quotation processes; collaborates on negotiations with vendors and evaluates vendor performance and compliance; serves as a liaison with other University units and outside organizations; forecasts ongoing software and hardware needs; uses electronic systems to conduct business transactions and compile information; reviews, evaluates, and/or manages contracts.

Representative Duties

  • Serve as the college, campus, or unit point of contact for technology procurement needs; collaborate with the Procurement Office on Requests for Proposals and technology purchases
  • Determine requirements; develop and implement processes for acquisition and deployment of technology products and services
  • Administer software licensing programs in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Evaluate suppliers based on the price, quality, and speed of delivery of their products and services
  • Establish relationships with vendors; work with Procurement Office to negotiate volume and pricing; monitor contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions
  • Review and approve software, hardware, and peripheral purchases
  • Request, gather, complete, and submit required paperwork for reconciliation, RFPs, and purchase orders
  • Coordinate with the Financial Office and Accounting department as required to resolve questions on supplier invoices
  • Assist with budgetary forecasting in relation to equipment, systems, and software needs
  • Provide reporting of asset performance, license inventory, and related financials as required
  • May utilize a variety of electronic systems to manage requisitions, conduct audits, and manage vendors and/or inventories
  • May supervise staff and direct the work of others

  • Comp Grade – 7
  • Minimum – $46,400.00
  • MidPoint – $56,800.00
  • Maximum – $67,300.00
