Job Summary and Representative Duties

The Data Analyst advises stakeholders in determining the appropriate analytical methodology to meet their requirements; gathers and analyzes data from various large datasets sources with the aim of providing actional insights that inform business decisions; develops reports, summaries, recommendations, and visual representations; performs statistical programming; develops and/or maintains databases.

  • Meet with stakeholders to determine data needs and project requirements; advise in determining the appropriate analytical methodology to meet stakeholder needs and achieve objectives
  • Collect, clean, validate, and format data from structured data sources including databases, surveys, or public data; design scripts and run queries to extract and retrieve data
  • Use statistical techniques to explore and interpret data, identify trends, patterns, and correlations, and determine relationships; translate findings into actionable insights
  • Apply best practices in data validation to ensure accuracy and consistency across datasets; identify and resolve errors
  • Develop charts and visual aids to display and present data results
  • Present findings and actionable insights to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner
  • Design and prepare standard and ad hoc reports; automate data workflows; develop and optimize reporting processes
  • Maintain documentation of data processes and data dictionaries
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new tools or methodologies to improve data accessibility and usability
  • Ensure adherence to internal data governance policies and external regulations
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure proper handling of sensitive data
  • May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

Supervisory Responsibilities:
