Energy Management Consulting

The Energy Management Consultant provides technical, analytical, and advisory services related to energy procurement, utility management, energy markets, sustainability initiatives, utility cost management, and energy information systems. The position supports clients by developing energy procurement strategies, evaluating market conditions, managing utility-related programs, analyzing energy data, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational performance.

• Develop and implement electrical and natural gas procurement strategies for clients; align sourcing strategies with client budgetary, operational, and risk management objectives
• Prepare, evaluate, negotiate, and execute energy procurement solicitations, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs); evaluate supplier proposals, pricing structures, contract language, market opportunities, and risk exposure
• Manage a portfolio of clients; maintain and enhance electricity shopping programs; secure contracts that enhance program capabilities; support client acquisition and portfolio growth initiatives
• Serve as a liaison between sponsors and energy suppliers; coordinate supplier transitions, contract implementation activities, and client onboarding efforts
• Maintain utility account information and assist with utility contract administration; ensure the integrity and quality of utility account, billing, metering, and energy market data
• Monitor electricity, natural gas, renewable energy, and related markets; analyze commodity pricing, utility tariffs, market trends, and regulatory changes; develop forecasting models, budget projections, and market impact analyses
• Evaluate market risks and opportunities; provide recommendations regarding procurement timing and cost management strategies
• Provide technical and analytical support to clients regarding energy procurement, utility expenditures, and energy-related operational decisions; monitor and communicate regulatory, market, and geopolitical developments affecting pricing and supply reliability; develop reports, presentations, and recommendations for client organizations and stakeholders regarding market conditions, regulatory requirements, utility programs, and energy cost drivers
• Implement demand response, peak load reduction, distributed energy resources, sustainability, and energy efficiency initiatives; develop and administer energy management programs designed to reduce costs and improve operational performance
• Evaluate utility incentives, market opportunities, and program participation options
• Support annual reporting activities; ensure data quality; monitor, interpret, and apply changes to regulatory and reporting requirements
• Develop, maintain, and utilize energy information systems, utility databases, analytical tools, platforms, and reporting tools to support client and organizational objectives
• Develop partnerships with suppliers, utilities, government agencies, and industry organizations to expand program capabilities; identify and implement process improvements, procurement innovations, and service enhancements
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, market trends, and industry best practices
