Admissions Assistant – Intermediate Support (PSU1189)
Job Summary
The Admissions Assistant guides prospective students and their parents through the admissions process by answering questions and providing a variety of resources and information. This position updates applications, explains the transfer credit process to current students and parents, and initiates requests for changes to student records.
Representative Duties
- Guide prospective students through admissions procedures and troubleshoot processes relating to application, evaluation, visit scheduling, and transfer credits
- Provide enrollment information and resources to prospective students and parents in the areas of Bursar, Student Aid, Registrar, Housing and Food Services, the Honors College, Global Programs, etc.
- Develop and maintain high-level expertise in using, navigating, explaining, and troubleshooting various application/enrollment systems
- Update applications at applicant’s request including campus selections and college/major selection pre-decision or post decision
- Check various systems to provide application status updates
- Maintain student records; update degree audits with approved substitutions and/or as requested by academic advisers; document student-related work
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with academic partners
- Review new student Academic Requirements Reports and Transfer Credit Reports
- May provide information about various campus visitation programs
- May provide instructions, including directions to University Park/other campuses, lodging options, and parking information
- Review, analyze, and process information, records, and transcripts for determining application of transfer credits
- Assist with the testing and/or training of new processes
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 5
- Minimum – $38,300.00
- MidPoint – $46,900.00
- Maximum – $55,500.00
