Athletic Operations Specialist – Principal Professional (PSU2157)

Job Summary

The Athletic Operations Specialists coordinates all operations for a specific Division I athletic program; acquires, organizes, and analyzes development videos, opponent films, and team statistics; manages program budget; coordinates practice and game times; plans and coordinates all aspects of team travel; serves as a liaison to athletic administration, training staff, sport staff, marketing, and other organizations; plans, organizes and coordinates all logistics of the summer camp program.

Representative Duties

  • Coordinate the production, acquisition, and maintenance of team development videos, opponent films, playbooks, drill logs; distribute to coaches as appropriate
  • Perform analysis of practices, games, future opponents, and team/player statistics; provide coaches with reports for review
  • Utilize software to manage and organize scouting reports, play diagrams, playbooks, and videos
  • Oversee administrative aspects of practices and games such as scheduling and arranging for equipment availability
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of team travel and recruiting visits; develop itineraries; coordinate transportation and hotel arrangements, meals, practice times and sites, purchases, and staff meeting schedules
  • Serve as a liaison to athletic administration, compliance, facilities, training staff, equipment manager, communications, marketing, and other organizations
  • Manage program budget as it relates to summer camps, video exchange, recruiting, equipment, and team travel
  • Liaison with external officiating groups including Big Ten, NCAA; internal departments such as academic support units and fundraising teams
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate all logistics of the summer camp program; promote program by creating and distributing brochures; manage the budget to ensure expenses are within budget; organize registration; oversee staff hiring, and establish camp schedules
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate team manager and student intern program
  • Coordinate team community service activities
  • May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 11
  • Minimum – $68,200.00
  • MidPoint – $85,200.00
  • Maximum – $102,300.00
