Athletic Events Specialist – Intermediate Professional (PSU0418)
Job Summary
The Athletic Events Specialist coordinates, plans, and manages intercollegiate sport events; oversees logistics including staffing, budget, scheduling, marketing, media coverage, and external vendors; coordinates and manages workflow; and maintains communication between units to execute the event.
Representative Duties
- Manage events for assigned sports including staffing, schedules, communication, budget, and operational logistics
- Schedule game day staff and ensure adequate coverage for the event; oversee the workflow of event staff
- Coordinate with marketing, ticketing, parking, and video teams to execute event logistics
- Create gameday materials such as event sheets and signage; oversee the distribution of event materials
- Coordinate with units including emergency, transportation, facilities, and police services to execute protocols and ensure event safety
- Maintain budgets for assigned sports; prepare and maintain contracts; review and approve invoices; prepare financial reports
- Coordinate with external vendors associated with events
- Prepare bid submissions for hosting opportunities
- Hire, train, and supervise students or wage employees
- Collaborate with coaches and directors to develop long range plans for future events, assess event effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities, develop new event management strategies
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 8
- Minimum – $51,000.00
- MidPoint – $62,500.00
- Maximum – $74,000.00
